PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The woman accused of striking a Philadelphia police officer with her rental car during civil unrest nearly five years ago pleaded guilty Friday in a deal with prosecutors.

Authorities say Angela Hall ran over Officer Antonio Nieves near Seventh and Chestnut streets on May 30, 2020, after she allegedly ransacked a beauty supply store. Officials say Hall then ditched the rental car in Southwest Philly and reported it as stolen.

Nieves suffered a broken arm, shoulder and ribs, as well as fractured vertebrae.

As part of the deal with prosecutors, several charges including obstruction, burglary and fleeing police were dropped.

Hall pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and related charges. She is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
