PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman was shot and killed outside a 7-Eleven in Center City Friday afternoon.
It happened just before 6 p.m. at the store on 12th and Chestnut streets. Blood stained the ground. Police said the woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she died about an hour later.
Abhi said he was inside the 7-Eleven when the shooting happened. He said it spawned from an argument.
“The woman — she was a customer. She came inside the store. But after leaving the store, she was fighting here with the homeless guy. They fought for some time, and then we heard gunshots," Abhi said.
“All of a sudden, there were gunshots, people running inside the store, they were hiding… they were hiding behind the shelves… they locked the door up so we could be safe.”
A person is in custody.
