PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Since the 1990s, the infamous work of a presumed British graffiti artist has popped up in streets around the globe.

While their true identity remains unknown, the artist goes by the pseudonym, “Banksy.” And, until Jan. 31, 2023, more than 80 pieces of their work, gathered from multiple collectors through a fine art gallery, will be on display at the Exhibition Hub, located in the Fashion District.

The interactive, self-guided tour, Banksy Was Here, allows exhibit-goers to experience the art – which typically focuses on political and social commentary – and learn more about “Banksy” using digital installments like virtual reality.

John Zaller, curator of the exhibit, says it is a unique experience that people of all ages will enjoy.

“The works are beautiful and compelling and the message that underlies those works really asks you questions about what’s your perspective on the world that we live in today, with the artist saying I would like you to look at it a little differently.”

Zaller hopes the exhibit will leave visitors with a lasting impression.

“People come away with real stories and real, thought-provoking ideas they can then take with them.”

Tickets are available on their website.
