PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A new luxury home community in Atlantic City is inching closer to completion, as Lighthouse Row enters its second phase of construction.
Located along New Hampshire Avenue, near the historic Absecon Lighthouse, Lighthouse Row will consist of four- and five-bedroom luxury homes expected to sell for between $800,000 and $1.5 million.
According to Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, construction is attracting new buyers for long-term investments. He says that for a long time, developers wouldn’t touch Atlantic City, but that investments like these are proof that those days are over.
The mayor also announced that he even bought a house for himself, and that the new community is a sign of a construction renaissance for the city.
“This area is going to boom,” he said. “In addition to that, in between New Hampshire [Avenue] and Maine Avenue on Atlantic [Avenue], another 38 units. If we take you to near Ocean [Avenue], from Ocean to the old waterside, it’s going to be another few hundred units.”
Smalls says it’s an exciting time for Atlantic City and that the development shows the city is worth investing in, with another neighborhood — K. Hovnanian Homes — expected to break ground soon, not far from Lighthouse Row.
