PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The head of Atlantic City Public Schools received a big new contract.
La’Quetta Small was awarded a new five-year deal. The Atlantic City Board of Education voted unanimously to keep her as superintendent through 2031.
Small is also getting a raise. By the end of the contract, she will be making $319,866 a year.
The extension comes months after prosecutors dropped child abuse charges against her. Small and her husband, Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, were accused of physically and emotionally abusing their teenage daughter.
The mayor was found not guilty at trial late last year. Charges against La’Quetta Small were dropped soon thereafter.
