BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested and charged a Bensalem man they say attempted to chase someone with a knife and run him over with a car multiple times.

Bensalem police say it all unfolded around 4 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Bristol Pike and Red Lion Road.

According to the victim, a man, later identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Santucci, pulled up next to him in a red SUV and started to yell at him before he exited the car with a large knife and chased him.

Santucci was unsuccessful in catching the victim on foot, so he hopped back in the SUV and attempted to run the man over — “he then stopped, backed up, and tried to run him over again,” police said. The driver then went south on Bristol Pike, made a U-turn, and attempted to run the man over once more.

Police say the man drove away and returned about four minutes later to try and run the victim over as he was standing on the side of Red Lion Road — this time, swerving into traffic. His car spun, doing circles before he finally fled northbound on Bristol Pike.

The entire incident was captured on surveillance video.

Officials say Santucci’s actions may have been motivated by jealousy of a woman the victim was dating.

Santucci is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment of another person, and related offenses. He was released on bail and is due back in court next month.
