PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Vermont senator and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders spoke at a rally for the working class on Independence Mall on Saturday. It wasn't an official campaign rally, but it sure sounded like one.
Sanders voiced his support for unions and his displeasure with corporate greed.
"So we are here to say loudly and clearly that if we're going to save the middle class of this country, we're gonna grow the trade union movement.
"Workers are gonna have a voice on the job. They're gonna have a voice in Washington and in their state capitals all over this country."
Sanders said he will not allow billionaires to control the country.
"So now is the time to stand up and fight back against the oligarchy, fight back against corporate greed, and fight for an economic and political system that works for all, not just a few."
Sanders also spoke about guaranteeing health care as a human right, forgiving student debt and raising the minimum wage.
