PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An SUV struck a bicyclist and then took off in Kensington Sunday night.
It was around 8:45 p.m. as the cyclist was going east on Tioga Street.
Police said a white Honda Pilot going southbound on Jasper Street blew through a red light at Tioga Street and struck the cyclist.
He was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
Police said the 39-year-old driver left the scene but then showed up at the 24th District about three hours later. Police said the driver is now cooperating with investigators.
There’s no word yet on whether any charges will be filed.
