PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Pennsylvania Game Commission is searching for a bear that has been seen on Tuesday roaming around neighborhoods in Warminster and Lower Southampton townships in Lower Bucks County.
And the folks at the PGC aren’t the only ones on the hunt.
“The neighborhood is packed with people trying to find this bear,” said Jennifer Gill, the manager of D.A.’s Auto Body & Repair in Feasterville.
“Coming into work, I got a call. I always bring my dog to work, actually, with me. I was told to be very careful that there was a bear, actually, in the neighborhood — which is right across the street from the shop.”
Warminster Township Police ask anyone who sees the animal to call 911 immediately. The Trevose Fire Company is instructing the public to watch their children and pets.
“He is just kind of wandering the neighborhood. Of course it looks like trash day, so I guess he is enjoying himself. And he is just terrorizing the neighborhood,” Gill said.
The bear is the talk of the town, she said.
“We are not used to this at all. In fact, when I call customers to tell them that the car is ready I also add ‘Please be careful of the bear.’ That’s not what I typically say to a customer.”
