PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police found a dead body in a freezer in the basement of a South Philly home Friday morning.
Family members of a man who lives there told police they went to the home to check on him. They spotted a lot of blood inside and called the cops.
Cops arrived at the house at 12th Street and Snyder Avenue around 6:30 a.m. and followed a trail of blood to the basement, where they found more blood leading to a freezer and a bloody knife nearby.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said they discovered a man's body inside the freezer with a bag over his head.
The Philadelphia Homicide Unit has a person of interest in custody but has not made any formal charges.
