WEST PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating after officers found a body in a garbage can on the side of the road in West Philadelphia.
Police say officers were called to the scene on 47th Street near Baltimore Avenue and Cedar Park, in the Mill Creek section of West Philadelphia, around 9:42 Thursday morning. The person in the garbage can was pronounced deceased at 9:51 by medics on the scene.
Authorities have not identified the deceased individual, nor confirmed their age or gender, only saying that they appeared to be African American.
Police also continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding their death.
