CHESTER, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Crews recovered the body of a man who went missing after he fell into Chester Creek in Delaware County Monday night.
The man, who has not been publicly identified, was at Ethel Waters Park in Chester and fell into the creek between 9 and 10 p.m., officials said. Local crews, as well as the Coast Guard, searched for him.
After several hours, authorities shifted from rescue to recovery. The body was found at some point after midnight on Tuesday.
The medical examiner was at the scene, along with what appeared to be family members, tearfully hugging and consoling each other.
Officials did not release any information about the man’s identity, nor did they say what he was doing before he fell in the creek.
