PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 13-year-old boy and a family member were shot in the parking lot of a South Philadelphia shopping center after they finished their Christmas dinner.
Police said it happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday outside the Royal Buffet and Grill at Second Street and Oregon Avenue.
The teenager was struck in the hand and is expected to be physically OK. The 34-year-old relative suffered several gunshot wounds, including two shots in his stomach, one in his neck, three in his arm, and one in his hip. He drove himself to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Investigators believe the boy was hit by stray gunfire. They are not sure if the adult family member was targeted.
No arrests have been made.
