PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A boy is in stable condition after being shot near Abraham Lincoln High School in the Mayfair neighborhood of Northeast Philly late Wednesday morning.
Police said the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at Rowland and Sheffield Avenues.
The victim was wounded in the hip and taken by the police to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
Police did not immediately announce any arrests or what led up to the shooting.
A Philadelphia School District spokeswoman said no Lincoln students were involved in the shooting.
The school did not go into lockdown.
Police have not yet made any arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
