PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 12-year-old boy died Saturday night after police say he was shot in the Strawberry Mansion section of the city.
It happened just after 9 p.m. in an apartment near the corner of North 33rd and West Clearfield streets.
Authorities say the boy was shot in the temple and in the nose. According to investigators, the shooter was known to the victim.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced just before 11 p.m.
Police have made an arrest. There was no initial word on the reason for the shooting.
