PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Bucks County are looking for the driver who hit a boy over the weekend and left him unconscious, bloody and bruised.
Xavier Thomas, 10, was riding his bike home around noon Sunday near Sheldon and Dixon avenues in Croydon when he said something scary happened.
“I was riding back down to my house, and then I turn right — I was gonna turn right there, but before I did, someone hit me.
The driver sped off.
Two strangers found Thomas on the side of the road and called police.
“It’s messed up. You should turn yourself in… and be a human,” the 10-year-old said.
Thomas is out of the hospital but has road rash burns to his face and will need surgery for other injuries.
Police urge neighbors to check their surveillance cameras for any possible footage of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to email Officer C. Adams at Cadams216@bristolpd.org or the department's non-emergency line at 215-785-8501.
