NEW JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — If you saw a bull running rampant on the train tracks at Newark Penn Station this morning … No, you weren’t still dreaming.
The brown bovine with dark-tipped horns held up train traffic for commuters between New Jersey and New York Penn Station for about an hour Thursday.
NJ Transit posted to X, formerly Twitter, alerting riders of the delay around 11 a.m.
They say officers eventually came to the scene and cornered the bull in a fenced-in lot about three miles from the station.
Exactly where the bull came from, how it got loose, or who owns it is not yet known, but it is being taken to a local animal sanctuary.
This is not the first time a bull was loose in Newark.
According to NBC News, officials spent nearly 10 hours trying to round up a bull running free in the area back in 2006.
