
PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) -- A man from Camden, New Jersey, is facing charges in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy in the early hours of New Year's Day.
After an investigation by Camden County police detectives and the homicide unit of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, 20-year-old Jonathan Flores-Chila was charged with aggravated manslaughter and weapons offenses.
Police and emergency medics responded just before 3 a.m. on Sunday to a 911 call reporting a person stabbed at the 3000 block of Mt. Ephraim Avenue in Camden, the prosecutor's office said.
First responders found the Camden boy with stab wounds and rushed him to Cooper University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 4 a.m.
Flores-Chila will be held at Camden County Correctional Facility after release from the hospital, according to the prosecutor's office. It was not immediately known why Flores-Chila was hospitalized.
