CAMDEN, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — Camden is looking to add a few more "Yellow Jackets" to its team buzzing around downtown.
The Yellow Jackets are ambassadors for the city, working to improve the experience of visitors in downtown Camden. They are city residents and are ready to help with anything from providing directions and restaurant recommendations to helping clean and beautify the streets.
Nathaniel Echeverria, executive director of the Camden Special Services District, said the residency requirement for team members is an important piece of the puzzle.

"We get a lot of advantages from hiring Camden residents," he said. "They have a lot of pride in the city. They know the city inside and out. This is their home. They live here."
Echeverria said the fundamentals are often the most important things when trying to grow tourism as a city. Keeping streets clean and having friendly, helpful people to guide visitors are the building blocks of taking the next step as a destination.
They are currently looking for Yellow Jacket team members and a team leader. Information on how to apply can be found here.
