PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Center City District Restaurant Week is back.
City-goers can wine and dine at the 90 participating restaurants – the most they have had since before the pandemic – until Sunday, Jan. 28.
Michelle Shannon with the Center City District says they started the city-wide event in 2003. It’s a twice-annual promotion that helps bolster Philadelphia’s restaurant scene during the time of year when restaurants aren’t typically as busy.
She added that it’s also a way for people to try new restaurants at a less intimidating price point and, in turn, gives restaurants the chance to attract new customers.
Restaurants offer a pre-fixed, three-course menu. Dinners cost $40 and lunch is $25.
“We have only raised the price two times in 20 years,” Shannon said. “We started out at 30 dollars, we raised it to 35, and then several years ago we raised it to 40.”
In September, they’ll be celebrating 20 years of restaurant weeks in Center City.
