PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — City officials have upgraded charges against four teens involved in the shooting outside a West Philadelphia mosque earlier this month.
On April 10 at 2:30 p.m., three people were shot while about 1,000 people were gathered near 47th Street and Lancaster Avenue to celebrate the end of Ramadan.
Four teens and one adult were arrested.
The teens — Gia Bruce, Abdul Allen, Qasir Bradley and Brandon Fisher — are now being charged as adults with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and gun offenses.
Kahbir Oglesby-Hicks, 21, was charged a few days after the shooting with firearm offenses, possession of an instrument of crime, and evading arrest.
Assistant District Attorney Bill Fritze says, with more than two dozen shell casings found, they are still looking for more gunmen.
“There were 33 FCCs recovered at the scene. We can say today that the guns that we recovered and the individuals that are connected to those guns only point to 13 of those FCCs.”
Fritze asks people to come forward if they had any involvement in the shooting.
“If you were one of the people that was pulling the trigger, I would tell you right now before we ask the police department or the sheriff department to come find you at six in the morning, that you turn yourself in now.”
