OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. (KYW Newsradio) — A New Jersey woman has been charged with falsely accusing her boyfriend of trying to burn and kill her.
Ocean County prosecutors say Plumstead Township police got a call about a burn victim in the woods on Oct. 15.
They arrived to find Chelsea Villano of Eatontown, who told them her boyfriend tried to kill her.
Her boyfriend was charged with attempted murder the next day, but now prosecutors say Villano's original story wasn't true.
Villano is charged with falsely incriminating another person. She remains in jail pending a detention hearing.
