PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Cheltenham School District has a new leader. The board has named Chris McGinley as interim superintendent.
He replaces Brian Scriven, who resigned after a group of Cheltenham High School football coaches and students were charged in a hazing investigation.
McGinley previously served as superintendent in Cheltenham in the mid-2000s and was also in the top job in Lower Merion.
The board said McGinley is “uniquely qualified” to lead “at a time when the district is focused on rebuilding public trust and ensuring the safety of all students.”
