PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 53-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged in connection with a jewelry store robbery in Center City.

Authorities say Chim Phu stole more than $100,000 worth of jewelry Wednesday afternoon along Arch and 9th streets.

They say Phu pulled out a gun as he went up to a glass case of 24-carat jewelry inside the store and pulled out what they believe was a hammer and smashed the case, grabbing trays of jewelry.

Police say they seized guns, drugs and ammunition during Saturday’s arrest. He is charged with robbery, drug and guns charges.
