MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA (KYW Newsradio) — A Montgomery County man accused of killing his neighbor in an argument over loud snoring, has been charged with murder.
A wall connects 55-year-old Christopher Casey and 62-year-old Robert Wallace’s houses along Fitch Drive in Hatboro. Through it, Wallace could hear Casey’s “loud snoring” — something the two had been arguing about for more than a year.
Casey said on Sunday, around 6:30 p.m., Wallace ripped out Casey’s screen while he was eating dinner and banged on his window, threatening to kill him. Casey opened the window and the two talked for about 20 minutes.
Police say Wallace never tried to enter Casey’s home, and after the two talked through the window, Wallace wanted to shake hands.
Casey went on to say that he hid a military-style knife and taser under a blanket. And when he opened the door for Wallace, he stabbed him multiple times, including in the chest.
Police say when they arrived at the scene they found blood both inside and outside of the residence.
Wallace and Casey were both transported to the hospital. Casey had a stab wound on his leg. Wallace died from the injuries.
Casey was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter, and possessing an instrument of crime.
Bail is set at $1 million cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 29.
