PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — City officials will be handing out free gun locks on Wednesday after a 5-year-old girl was shot inside her North Philadelphia home on election night.
The child was shot once in the hip and twice in the arm, but she is expected to be physically OK.
Philadelphia police say someone drove her to the hospital, and the gun was recovered. No other details have been released yet.
Gun locks will be available at Sixth Street and Montgomery Avenue until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
