PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Health care is a billion-dollar industry. Few would disagree that many of the costs to consumers must be reduced. But there are some things everyone can do to improve their health that don’t cost a thing.
The first is obvious — aerobic exercise. Certainly, you can spend money to join a gym, but it doesn’t cost anything to go for a walk, park at a distance from the store or make exercise a bigger part of the day.
Another free lifestyle choice — sleep. A new study finds that people, middle-aged and older, who sleep fewer than five hours per night, are at greater risk for heart disease and cancer.
