PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 14-month-old baby died last month after being left in a hot car. The father is now facing charges.

Police said on June 11, Daniel Moist, 38, of Nazareth Township, dropped his 7-year-old daughter off at a sports camp, and instead of dropping his 14-month-old daughter off at day care, he went about his day.

According to court records obtained by our newsgathering partners at NBC10, Moist stopped for gas, bought drinks from the store, and then drove to his employer's Bethlehem office. He went to work around 10 a.m., leaving the baby in the back seat. Temperatures climbed to 93 degrees that day.

Police said Moist found his daughter dead in her car seat around 4 p.m.

Moist has been charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses. Police said a blood test taken after the incident indicated Moist had THC in his system.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15.
