PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have arrested a man they say is connected to three corner store robberies in South Philadelphia.
Officials say on June 7, just before 2 p.m., a man entered a corner store on the 2800 block of South 16th Street and “brandished a simulated weapon.” They say he stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and fled the scene.
An investigation into that robbery pointed officials toward 32-year-old David Iezzi.
They say further investigation linked him to two more corner store robberies in the same area — one on June 1 around 6 p.m. at South 12th Street, and another on June 9 on South 11th Street just before 9 p.m.
Police arrested Iezzi in his South Philly home on Wednesday. He’s charged with robbery, possessing an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, theft, and related charges.
No injuries were reported during any of the robberies.
