PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A person is dead after a house fire Monday morning in Marcus Hook, Delaware County.
It happened just before 10:15 a.m. on the 200 block of Market Street.
According to the Marcus Hook Trainer Fire Department, the fire began in the rear of the home, with heavy smoke moving throughout the building.
Officials said one person was rescued from a second-story front window but later died from their injuries. A pet also perished. Two other individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The fire was declared under control about 30 minutes later.
The cause remains under investigation by the local fire department and the Pennsylvania State Fire Marshal.
