PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is in critical condition after being struck by a minivan in Northeast Philadelphia Saturday night.
Officials said it happened around 9 p.m. when a 24-year-old man driving a silver Honda minivan struck a 58-year-old man as he tried to cross in the middle of the street at Cottman and Castor avenues.
Police said the victim stepped into the path of the vehicle as it traveled down Castor Avenue.
The 58-year-old was taken to the hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene. He has not been charged.
