PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman was killed and a man was critically injured in a double shooting overnight in North Philadelphia.
Around 11:50 p.m. Sunday, police said they received multiple calls for a shooting outside of a home near 24th Street and Lehigh Avenue.
Officers found 61-year-old Michelle Wilson and a 67-year-old man each suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital; Wilson died a short time later, police said. The man is listed in critical condition.
Inspector D.F. Pace said they believe at least one of the victims lived at that home.
“Spent shell casings on the porch where the shooting occurred, as well as on the stairs and on the sidewalk, and a few also on the street,” he said. “Altogether, approximately 20 spent shell casings have been located.”
Officials are not sure whether the two victims were the intended targets or if they were caught in gunfire meant for someone else. Police said no weapon was recovered, and there’s no word on a motive.
