Delaware County to open new vaccination site in Springfield

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Another COVID-19 vaccination site in Delaware County will open next week.

Officials said the fifth Delco clinic will be located at Springfield Hospital, starting Thursday, March 11. It will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on an appointment-only basis.

Those interested in getting a vaccine through Delaware County Government can fill out the pre-registration form online. Teachers will be vaccinated through the State's allocation of the Johnson & Johnson shots, per Gov. Tom Wolf's plan.

County officials said they received 2,900 Moderna vaccines and nearly 1,200 Pfizer vaccines for the upcoming week. They expect to receive thousands more the following week - 1,700 moderna vaccines and 2,300 Pfizer vaccines for Radnor, and nearly 1,200 of the Pfizer doses for Springfield.

As of Thursday, officials reported about half of the nearly 32,000 doses they requested have been delivered.

Officials said they also plan to start delivering vaccines to people unable to leave their homes.

Residents with COVID-19 related questions, including vaccines and testing, can call or email the Delaware County COVID-19 Call Center at (484) 276-2100, or by email at covid19resources@co.delaware.pa.us.

Residents without home internet access to research available COVID-19 shots or testing appointments can use an internet hotspot at one of the county's public libraries.
