PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man from Delaware County, Pennsylvania, has been arrested and is facing charges of stalking and harassing New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill. And, this isn’t the first time he’s been accused of this kind of harassment.
The U.S. Marshals Service announced the arrest of 72-year-old Stephen Cilurso on Wednesday.
Investigators said during Sherrill’s campaign in October and November, Cilurso left sexually explicit and derogatory messages to the then-U.S. congresswoman.
Cilurso was previously charged with leaving vulgar and harassing voicemails for Montgomery County Congresswoman Madeleine Dean in 2021. He told a detective that when he drinks, his mouth is his “own worst enemy.” Cilurso pleaded guilty to four counts of harassment and served probation.
