PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Burlington County jury has convicted a Pennsylvania man of murdering his child's mother and grandmother in 2024.
Burlington County Prosecutors say 39-year-old Junior Edwards of Lansdowne, Delaware County, smashed a first-floor window to enter a home on Harrington Court in Willingboro Township in the early morning hours of Oct. 30.
There, they say Edwards shot and killed 33-year-old Catherine Nunez and her 54-year-old mother, Marisol. Edwards shared an 8-year-old son with Nunez. The child was home during the shooting, but was unharmed.
Willingboro police arrived at the home around 4 a.m. to investigate a burglary in progress and found the two women's bodies in an upstairs bedroom. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Edwards was arrested by Philadelphia police days after the shooting on unrelated charges.
He was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, home invasion burglary armed with a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.
