PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Officials in Delaware County are taking preemptive measures to ensure people feel secure when they cast their ballot.

“Your law enforcement in Delaware County has been working continuously and they have been working collectively to make sure we’re going to have a safe Election Day and a secure election process,” said Tanner Rouse, Delaware County first assistant to the district attorney.

Rouse says people can reach out to them directly if they have an issue at the polls.

“We have a hotline setup. The District Attorney’s Office will be manning this all day long from 6 a.m. until it is safe to go home. We will be there waiting to take your calls and coordinate with law enforcement around the county in case any issues arise.”

Rouse says they are not aware of any specific threats but law enforcement is prepared for all possible contingency.

“I’m looking forward to having a very boring day Tuesday but just know when and if needed, your law enforcement is ready, willing and able and we have made extensive preparations to ensure the safety and security of this election.”

The Election Hotline is 610-891-VOTE. More election resources, including where your polling place is, can be found on delcopa.gov/vote.
