PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An infant was in her mother’s car when it was stolen Wednesday evening in Upper Darby.

The 11-month-old girl’s mother is a food delivery driver, according to police. Around 6:30 p.m., she left her car running to pick up an order inside a restaurant near 69th Street Station.

While she was gone, someone hopped in and drove away.

A good Samaritan, Telly Vasiliadas, found the baby, still in her car seat, on the sidewalk about two hours later and three blocks away from the scene. He called 911.

“I looked inside the car seat … and I saw the baby beautiful girl crying,” he told NBC10. “I said, ‘baby, baby’ — I tried to quiet it down.”

Police are still looking for the stolen car — a 2020 gray Hyundai Elantra with New Jersey license plates D48-MUS.
