PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Surgeons have worn scrubs for decades. The clothing used to be made in limited colors, but today there are many choices.
Researchers at the University of North Carolina decided to study if certain colors inspired confidence in patients. They looked at light blue, green, black and navy, which are the most popular.
Green inspired the most confidence in patients — it didn't matter if the surgeon was male or female. Light blue was associated with a caring physician. Navy blue and black were the least favorable.
