PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — When it comes to health care, it is safe to say that most of us have different opinions regarding how much we trust the health care system.

According to a new report in the Journal of the American Medical Association, the vast majority of people agree on one thing: They have little confidence that artificial intelligence will be used consistently and protect them.

One critical component of this lack of trust is that most people have not been told how AI is being used in health care, and whether or not their personal physician's input in decision-making and care is being impacted.

When it comes to AI, things are happening fast. Health care organizations need to establish guidelines for care as well as improve communication among medical staff and patients. Otherwise, this doubt may continue.
