PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A dog was found tied to a bench outside the Humane Society of Ocean City, New Jersey — something the shelter says is becoming a trend.
Shortly after midnight on Aug. 1, police found the dog with a note saying her name is Mello and her owners can no longer care for her, according to the shelter.
It said this was the fourth dog that had been dumped at the shelter in the last month.
In July, the Humane Society of Atlantic County had a dog dumped over its fence in the middle of the night. At the time, the shelter said it was the fourth dog brought there by the same person.
