PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police have charged a man they say assaulted five people in Center City Monday.
They say around 7:15 a.m., a man, identified as 36-year-old Donnell Bruce, pushed three elderly people to the ground "in an unprovoked attack" near 22nd and Market streets.
Bruce then walked west on Market and struck a 22-year-old woman in the face, knocking her to the ground.
After that, police say he attempted to steal a bag from a 77-year-old man. When he resisted, Bruce punched him in the mouth.
Officers eventually detained him after a foot pursuit.
Police say all of the victims sustained minor injuries.
Bruce is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, simple assault, resisting arrest and other related offenses.

Bruce pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He will be sentenced at a later date.
