The incident happened during the game on Sunday, just before 4 p.m., near Pattison Avenue and Darien Street.

Police said troopers were helping disperse a large crowd. The scene was controlled and the mounted unit continued its patrol. That’s when a white pickup truck hit the trooper, causing him to fall off his horse.

Other members of the mounted patrol unit stopped the truck and arrested the 43-year-old man on DUI and aggravated assault charges.

The horse was not injured.
