PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man riding an electric bike in Kensington was killed in what police believe was a drive-by shooting.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The man was riding his bike southbound on Kensington Avenue, near F Street.
“That’s when a red SUV, possibly a Chrysler, pulled up next to him, and someone fired shots from the passenger side, striking the victim multiple times,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
The shooter fired at least 35 shots from a rifle. The SUV took off, going south on Kensington Avenue.
The victim died at the hospital. Police haven’t been able to identify him yet. They believe he was in his 30s.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to try to identify a suspect.
