PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Don't be alarmed if you hear sirens Tuesday in the Delaware area.
For quarterly emergency alarm testing, 37 sirens within a 10-mile radius of the Salem-Hope Creek nuclear generating station in South Jersey will sound.
Testing will begin at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday for 3 to 5 minutes followed by an Emergency Alert System test on area radio stations.
The sirens are used to alert the public in the event of an emergency at either the nuclear plant or the station.
