PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former police officer in Burlington County, New Jersey has pleaded guilty to hacking the social media accounts of hundreds of women and distributing nude images of dozens of them.
In September 2022, a woman told police that someone hacked her Snapchat and Facebook accounts. She said the hacker shared her nude photos with her Snapchat contacts and posted them on her Facebook page.
Police traced the hacker to 25-year-old Ayron Taylor, who was an officer with the Mount Laurel Police Department.
Investigators said Taylor illegally accessed about 5,000 student email addresses from Rowan College at Burlington County using his personal devices while on duty.
He resigned from the department after being charged. He is scheduled to be sentenced in September and faces up to 12 years in prison.
