PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Law enforcement sources say one person is in custody in connection with a Philadelphia mother who was beaten to death with a brick over the weekend in Strawberry Mansion.

Keisha Farlow, 45, was found bludgeoned and unresponsive in an alleyway near 24th Street and Lehigh Avenue in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Bloodied bricks were found nearby.

Farlow was last seen around 2 a.m. walking with two Black males.

“They are walking in the area of this alleyway, and you see them go out of the frame and then immediately, when you see them minutes later, the decedent is not with them,” Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore said of surveillance video.

Farlow was a dedicated mother of four children, including an almost 1-year-old baby.

Now, based on a tip from the public, sources say they have someone in custody. Investigators are speaking with him as detectives continue to search for additional evidence.

As with every homicide, there’s a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

The man has not yet been charged.
