PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Lower Makefield, Bucks County say a man shot and killed his son and then himself.
Officials say 47-year-old Joseph Rozario pulled the trigger in a home located in a neighborhood off Heacock Road.
Officers went to the house for a wellness check around 6 p.m. Thursday and noticed an unresponsive boy on the living room floor inside. They kicked down the front door and found the boy and his father dead from gunshot wounds to the head.
Investigators believe it was a murder-suicide.
Police identified the boy as Rozario’s son, 8-year-old Fabian. He was a student at Afton Elementary School in Yardley.
Police say grief counseling will be available for students from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the school.
