PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information about a group of suspects robbing armored trucks in the Philly region.
Officials say the group robbed four armored trucks and tried to go after another all within six weeks —- from the end of June to mid-August.
Most of the incidents happened in Philadelphia and one —- on Aug. 12 —- in Cheltenham, Montgomery County.
During that robbery, police say two armed suspects rushed the driver, took his gun and got away with about $700,000 to $800,000.
Each time, authorities say the group is dressed all black or variations of black and grey sweatshirts and pants, and wore face coverings. They were armed with AR-style rifles and hand guns.
The men have also used stolen cars with dark-tinted windows and they’ve ranged from a brown Nissan Altima, silver Honda Accord, black Nissan Maxima, black Dodge Durango, and a black Acura TLX.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, and officials are asking the public for tips if they recognize any of the men. Those can be submitted anonymously online at tips@fbi.gov.
