PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead and four others are injured after shots rang out in a North Philadelphia neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Neighbors say they woke up to sounds of gunshots coming from a building at the intersection of D Street and Wyoming Avenue in Feltonville around 5 a.m.

“I was sleeping in my house, I hear boom boom boom,” said Roberto Pagan, who lives down the street from where the shooting took place.

Police say three men, ranging in age from 28 to 45, were injured in the shooting. They were all taken to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment; three of the men are in stable condition. A 23-year-old who was shot multiple times throughout his body died.

Pagan says the building off of D Street has become known as an after-hours place where people drink and gamble.

“They party every day, every night, they party,” Pagan said.

What led to the shooting is not yet known. An investigation is underway. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or submit a tip at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
