SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Crews are making progress on two wildfires that broke out in South Jersey on Saturday.
One is in Salem County, on Fort Mott Road in Pennsville Township. It's now spread 50 acres and is 85% contained.
Another is further north in Mercer County. As of the latest update Saturday last night, the Poor Farm Wildfire in Hopewell Township has burned 75 acres and is 40% contained.
New Jersey Forest Fire Service says the fire is threatening at least 30 structures, and authorities have shut down a couple roads nearby.
In Gloucester Township, police say a brush fire is now under control after burning 40 acres near Primrose Lane. And there were reports of more fires across the bridge in Chester County.
There have been no reports of any injuries from all these. The dry, windy conditions this weekend make it easier to fuel wildfires. The official causes of all these fires are still under investigation.
